About War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The Memorial Museum exhibits photographs, weapons, and other objects from the Vietnam and Indochina Wars.

The War Remnants Museum, which was established on September 4, 1975, is a member of the International Network of Museums for Peace (INMP) and the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

It is the only museum in Vietnam to systematically research, collect, preserve, and display artifacts relating to war crimes and the repercussions they had on the Vietnamese people at the hands of foreign aggressors. Simultaneously, the Museum urges everyone to oppose unjust wars, preserve global peace, and promote international friendship and solidarity.

There are nine permanent thematic exhibitions and numerous special collections at the museum. Throughout the year, a variety of events are held, including conferences, meetings with war witnesses, and temporary and itinerant exhibitions. • A very well-put-together memorial that showcases the atrocities that Vietnam has gone through in recent decades. It is extremely moving but a must-see when in Saigon to fully understand what the Vietnamese people have gone through. You can spend anywhere from 1 hour up to 4 hours there, taking in all the information, pictures, sculptures, and leftover machinery.
• A very beautiful place for all the history freaks. It talks about the Vietnam War and what the people of Vietnam faced due to the war. The pictures are heartbreaking, and you will understand how hard they worked to put the country back together. You can easily buy a ticket at the counter. Make sure you carry cash.
• The museum was very informative about the atrocities the West did to the Vietnamese when the West tried meddling in the affairs of another country (as usual). I spent about 2.5 hours here going through every exhibit. Highly recommended 👌.
• This is one of the must-see museums in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). There is a lot of information about the Vietnam/American War. The collection of American war vehicles is really well preserved. There is an exhibition about the imprisonment of the Vietnamese people and about the tiger cages the “puppets” used to break the locals. I took at least 2–3 hours to explore the whole complex.
• It’s a great place to learn about the long-fought war for independence in Vietnam. A lot of information is there, and some stages are really heartbreaking, as is the immense pain Vietnam bears to get this independence. must-visit places in HCM.
