During the Vietnam War, the Cu Chi tunnels were the site of several military campaigns and served as the Viet Cong’s base of operations for the 1968 Tết Offensive.

Numerous North Vietnamese fighters utilized the tunnels as hiding spots during combat, as well as for communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches, and living quarters.
