• I enjoyed visiting Bayou Bend. Such a beautiful home and its uniquely beautiful rooms Very interesting history. The tour guides were excellent at telling stories and history. The gardens were so beautifully landscaped. Peaceful, pretty walkways throughout the gardens. I highly recommend💛
• We really enjoyed touring the gardens; we did the self-guided garden-only tour. They have various guided tours and self-guided tour options. The gardens are nice and shaded, and there are plenty of areas to explore. Even though we went in the fall and none of the flowering plants were in bloom, the garden was still beautiful and very green. Nice for a family day out or a day date.
• I had a unique, serene experience while in the gardens, especially the week we visited when there was a show on the Texas War of Independence. They were showing antique weapons and the history of the war. The gardens are well maintained, and each staff member patiently explains the history of each room. After the tour, it’s good to have a stroll across the green landscape. It takes about 2–3 hours to cover the tour, so plan accordingly.
• We took our cousin to view the grounds and historical homes that were dedicated to the city. We took the 90-minute tour and thoroughly enjoyed it! The mansion was beautiful, and you get to see all the rooms on the 90-minute tour. Each room is designed for a certain period in history. Our guide was wonderful, and the grounds were beautiful.
• Wonderful gardens surround a historic mansion. Hilly and densely wooded, you don’t feel like you’re in Houston. The pedestrian suspension bridge over Buffalo Bayou is a special treat. The turn-off Memorial Drive can be hard to see, so pay attention!
