Sam Gould established a small hair salon in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1932. His goal was to provide his clients with a truly unique and professional fashion experience. Sam envisioned a sophisticated, upscale atmosphere, which was a Hollywood luxury at the time.

Sam’s vision was realized through his salons, and his name became a Memphis trademark. Gould’s evolved and grew, adding locations throughout the Greater Memphis area, and was eventually passed on to his sons Philip and David, who continue his commitment to providing a one-of-a-kind fashion experience.

In 1998, Gould’s opened its first Spa, extending services from hair care to body care. Each Gould’s Salon Spa location offers a comprehensive menu of body treatments, massages, facials, nail care, and Medi-Spa services.

Gould’s has the distinction of being the oldest multi-location Salon Spa in the industry, nearly a century after the first salon opened its doors. They employ and serve over 300 people between Gould’s Salon Spa locations and Luxe Salon Suites, and through Gould’s Academy, they educate and inspire the next generation.

• Emily performs miracles. I literally walked in and said “Help me” after a decade of cutting and dying my own hair. She transformed my Courtney Love-esque bleach job into the most beautiful color and cut. I might have become a regular at the salon.
• I enjoy visiting Gould’s Salon Spa – Overton Square! I’ve been going to Amy for waxing for over two years, and Taylor for haircuts and coloring for a year. Dorothy, the receptionist, is fantastic, and everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. If I could, I’d give it more than 5 stars! I was skeptical at first because they are a local chain, but this shop is much smaller and more intimate. Strongly recommended!
• I was greeted with a friendly “hello” as soon as I walked in. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing. And Micah did an excellent job with my cut and color!   He was thorough and extremely professional. All of the other stylists were equally pleasant! Overall, a very pleasant experience.  I’ll be back soon.
• Dylan did an excellent job of reversing the coloring error made at another salon, and I look forward to seeing her again for the next step in the lighting process.  She’s friendly and professional. I intend to send my adolescent son to her for future haircuts and would gladly recommend her to anyone looking for a great hair colorist.
• This was my first visit to a salon since moving to Memphis. I chose this location because of the positive reviews, and I’m glad I did! My hair turned out beautifully, she styled it beautifully, and I left with my hair looking and feeling healthier than when I arrived. I will definitely return to Gould’s Salon Spa – Overton Square for a retouch when the time comes.
