Sam Gould established a small hair salon in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1932. His goal was to provide his clients with a truly unique and professional fashion experience. Sam envisioned a sophisticated, upscale atmosphere, which was a Hollywood luxury at the time.

Sam’s vision was realized through his salons, and his name became a Memphis trademark. Gould’s evolved and grew, adding locations throughout the Greater Memphis area, and was eventually passed on to his sons Philip and David, who continue his commitment to providing a one-of-a-kind fashion experience.

In 1998, Gould’s opened its first Spa, extending services from hair care to body care. Each Gould’s Salon Spa location offers a comprehensive menu of body treatments, massages, facials, nail care, and Medi-Spa services.

Gould’s has the distinction of being the oldest multi-location Salon Spa in the industry, nearly a century after the first salon opened its doors. They employ and serve over 300 people between Gould’s Salon Spa locations and Luxe Salon Suites, and through Gould’s Academy, they educate and inspire the next generation.

• Megan was absolutely fantastic. She was the one who saved my hair. It’s lovely, and I’m overjoyed with it. Color and cut. She took her time, was gentle, and did an amazing job with my color.
• Couples packages are a delight. I’ve had numerous massages and facials. This was by far the best. My massage was just deep and intense enough to provide me with long-term benefits. She recognized my problems and worked with them slowly rather than forcefully. I am extremely impressed. We felt fantastic afterward. Lunch in the bank vault is a special perk at the midtown location.
• I first came here for a trim and my first balayage. Agoud was my stylist, and she was fantastic. I have thick hair, so it may have taken her a while, but the results speak for themselves. I didn’t even recognize myself. After checking in, I didn’t have to wait long. I enjoy the atmosphere and aesthetic at Gould’s Salon Spa – Poplar Plaza.
• The energy from everyone was unexpected, as was the cleanliness and how they made me feel during my visit. Mr. Ronnie is the man to see if you need every bone popped and every tense spot focused on, and Ms. Melody has an amazing personality and did my feet and hands and did an amazing job.
• Mrs. Evelyn massaged me, and I literally felt all of the tension and pain leave my body afterward. She made my body feel like it was brand new. I will definitely return to see her! For my birthday, I went to Gould’s and got a facial from Geneva. Geneva is unrivaled! Ronnie also gave me a massage, and Mrs. Evelyn gave me a body wrap. Gould’s Salon Spa – Poplar Plaza is the best!
